SERVICE ONTARIO PROJECT

During my time as a UI-UX Designer at ServiceOntario (Government Services Cluster), I had the unique opportunity to lead the design efforts on a critical project aimed at modernizing and enhancing the user experience for various business sites, particularly for the hunting and fishing licensing system. Selected as the sole designer on our team, I was responsible for redesigning and developing cohesive, user-friendly front ends that aligned with the new Ontario Design System standards.

I began with extensive user research, identifying that outdated design and navigational inconsistencies were significant pain points for users. Using Figma, I developed wireframes, user flows, and prototypes, advocating for simplicity and ease of use within the constraints of government policies. I worked closely with developers to ensure that the designs were both functional and efficient to implement. My role required balancing creative solutions with adherence to regulatory guidelines, and it underscored the importance of user-centered design in a high-stakes, policy-driven environment. This experience not only refined my technical and collaborative skills but also enhanced my understanding of design within governmental frameworks.
